Argh.Side Molding Damage.Any Suggestions.See pic

Hello.....quick story.....apparently my father was bouncing tennis ***** to my 5 year old son who was trying to hit them with a tennis racquet and one bounced into the side of my car. Apparently at the right angle to cause damage to the plastic strip on the door (see pic). Are there any products out there to change the stressed (white) plastic back to black. I tried car polish and wax and scratch remover with no luck as expected. Does anyone know if there is a product out there to fix this or do I need to replace the plastic molding? Thanks in advance.

Someone else may have an idea, but as far as I can tell once the plastic is deformed like that there is no going back. I'd guess you'll need to replace them. Bummer really, it'd almost have been better had the ball hit your paint.

Thanks for the response. I figured replacing it would be the most likely option. $50 for the piece, now to search for installation tips as I have the sedan so i hear it clips into the door.

I wish the ball would have hit the paint also......just not too hard :/ It is not as noticable as long as i do not park on a black surface, but my parents driveway is blacktop, so I saw it as soon as I came out of their garage

I was hoping that there might be a black tinted polish/wax out there that might help.

There are black dyes for rubber/plastic moldings, but since the moldings on the side are non-porous I don't think it would work. You could try it, though; if you do a good one to try would be "Leatherique Rubber Black Dye". It works great on more porous moldings (like around the mirrors for example). I have not tried it on the side moldings. Given the cost (~$20), it might be worth replacing the moldings anyway.

Good luck.

Wish I could, but its a sedan. I have read that they are attached to the door with more than just tape. Apparently there are holes that would need to be filled in and painted if I were to remove them. $$$$
