I've never really detailed any of the cars i've owned before and this time I'd like to get a good start with my G35. I read a lot of post and it seems like a lot of people are using speciality products that have to be bought over the internet or is hard to locate. I was wondering if you guys have any suggestions for good products that can be easily found in most auto stores? I'm really looking into detailing the interior and extrerior of my cat next weekend, but need some help on what to use.

Clay bar: Meguiar's, Mothers
Paint Cleaner: Meguiar's Scratch-X
Polish: Not really needed
Wax: Meguiar's #20, NXT, High tech #26
Glass: Stoner's
Dash/Trim: 303 Aerospace Protectant
Tires: Meguiar's Endurance Gel
Leather: Lexol cleaner/conditioner
Clear Plastic: Plastic-X
MF Towels: Costco bulk pack
All those products you should be able to find at different autoparts stores around your area

 

Polish is absolutely needed. Lots of people will say zaino klasse poorboys. Try 3m hand glaze you can get it at napa. A little spritz of glass cleaner on a microfiber is good enough( i use the 2 dollar zep stuff from Home Depot).

 

depends on your definition of polish, a polish that is a "glaze" isn't absolutely necessary, especially if the paint is relatively new, or the wax/sealant you use already contains oils to rejuvenate the finish. In fact, Klasse and Zaino don't even make a pure "polish" but rather its included in their sealant already, so no need to apply a polish beforehand.
