Any suggestions on keeping the engine clean? Pass a wet rag? Use a light spray from the hose?

but seriously, there are some engine degreasers out there, wouldnt hurt to try one. just spray on, hose off and let dry

Hopefully you DON'T let it get That Bad........ I just wipe with a Wet Cloth EVERY Time I wash the car........

my spray nozzle has a mist option. I spray a mist then use simple gree and a toothbrush. I then mist it off and dry the parts I can get to with a towel. The key is not using a strong jet of water which will force water into connectors .

Just use a wet rag. Like stated before if you do this at least once or twice a month you shouldn't need any degreaser for a long, long while.
