Bug melt
Bug melt
After a trip, I have what seems like a rather big dead bug melted to my hood (black).
Washing can't get it off. Tar and Bug remover useless.
Without damaging the finish, anyone have home made ideas?

Re: Bug melt
Try soaking the spot. Place a small towel soaked with carwash solution (water and concentrate) on the spot and leave for quite a while, 15 minutes will usually do the trick, 30 minutes could be better. The "guts" should come off quite easily thereafter, if not, coax it along with a fingernail...that should do the trick.
Let us know what worked.

Re: Bug melt
i say to try what chinee said, i am not a big fan of claybar, it has failed miserably for me. (tree sap)
you can also try some paint thinner on a small rag... then dont forget to wash+wax the area afterwards. Works well for me
