My G is only a week old and I just got the basic CG kit. Anything I should know before I apply it? Should I use a clay bar or is it not necessary because it's such a new car?

Any tips are appreciated.

no you dont have to claybar... just make sure you follow the directions somewhere on this site
Basically apply it using a spray bottle of water and 1 do 1 panel at a time (after a good hand- car wash)

I read on many prior posts that there are contamenants on a brand new car so I started from scratch with mine, dawn, clay bar then CG. It looks great now.

You can get clay bars from almost any major auto parts store. It really works well and leaves an unbelieveable smooth finish.

Do it. I too was skeptical that it was worth the time and effort on a brand new car. Plus, I didn't want to chance F'n up new paint. Well I couldn't pass on a $5 ClayMagic bar and went at it on the day after I brought my new G home. I was VERY surprised at how much **** I picked up off of the fresh DG paint. Lots of little black specks on the horizontal surfaces, particularly the hood. The results and the ease and beauty of the subsequent wax job convinced me enough to highly recommend it. You have absolutely nothing to lose but a brief amount of time, and may make upkeep from this point forward more effective and alot easier.

 

where do you guys buy your clay bars from?
and how much are you guys paying for a small kit with lub?

do they sell them at local hardware stores like CanadianTire?
