im looking to deep clean my carpet's with my pressure washer, could i use dawn soap to really get in there and scrub out the dirt/clean them? then just pressure wash it till their new?


or would the soap harm the color/carpet?

Have fun soaking your car interior with a presure washer unless you have the carpet removed. I wouldn't recomend it.

I suggest using a proper carpet shampoo, hot water if they are really dirty and a scrub brush. You'll want to rinse it well and use a shop vac to suck it dry. Keep the car open and well ventilated until the carpet is totally dry.... or just take it to a detail shop that will have the proper gear and get them to do it.

 

This is a bad idea. Dawn has a ton of detergents in it and will produce a foam that will be nearly impossible to get out without a pro level extractor. Use a carpet shampoo or something like Folex that's made for fabric. If you're in a bind cut some woolite 10:1 with water and use that sparingly.

 

I just drag my Hoover carpet shampooer out into the parking lot.
But, first I dust with my leaf blower.

 

I use the all season rubber mats so my floors stay pretty clean. For the tiny amount of dirt that accumulates around the edges I use a commercial dry cleaner which does a fantastic job. I also use that on all the hard plastic.

 

do you know of any all season rubber mats that looks good or dont turn yellow....

 

whoa - i mean the mats not the actualy carpet, and shampoo's are just not cutting it =\

Rubber or fabric mats? If rubber, use an all purpose cleaner and a brush. If Fabric I highly recommend not going with dawn or anything with a high detergent content; you'll have suds like no ones business and it'll be almost impossible to properly extract all the dawn from the mats.

Try Folex, it's a spot treatment and general fabric intended stain remover; I use it all the time in conjunction with highly diluted woolite and water and it works fine as long as you have a reasonably well powered wetvac/extractor to get the solution out. You may need to do some scrubbing with a carpet brush.

 

My Infiniti All Season mats still look good after a year, of course they are graphite, but I had an off lot loaner last year that was 2 years old with willow mats, and they still looked good!

 

I just got mine, new, but when they need a stiff cleaning, I use an all purpose cleaner. In the shade, hose down, apply APC generously, agitate with a brush, rinse, and dry in the sun.

After that, I usually go with an application of dressing. My choice is Zaino Z16 by hand, but sometimes I will do Chemical Guys VRT cut 2.5:1 sprayed on, then buffed dry after 10 mins. Makes them look great and repel future gunk.

Weekly, just vacuum and use and old damp towel to wipe-down any tough spots.

 

The OE rubber ones are great. I have the willow mats (over 2 yrs old) and even those are perfect. You can use a household cleaner like MR. Clean and a brush on them. Just hose them off and let dry.
