Put CG on my car for the first time.

First, I'm a dumbass. I knew you were supposed to apply it while wet but I washed the car, carefully dried it and admired it until I realized I had to wet it again for the CG. grrr.

Anyway, another thing is I don't think I applied nearly enough. The instructions warned of not applying too much. The small bottle is supposedly enough for 2 applications but when I was finished, I'd only used about 1/5 of the bottle. I think I'll put a second coat on it tomorrow.

Here's a pic. I couldn't take many because of the position of the sun.

Re: Put CG on my car for the first time.

pic has to be under 100KB in size for it show up here....

When you spray the CG, the contents inside the bottle sort of 'grows' because of air bubbles, give the bottle a day to settle and im sure it will look like you used more than 1/5th...

Anyway...did you apply it according to CG's instructions or the directions from this forum?

There is a big difference in results as well as a little bit more time consuming. Sure beats waxing by hand though!

i recommend that you wait a week, wash your car and then reapply CG again. This time use about twice as much more than what you did initially, and try to use the instructions from this site....in a nutshell it involves using a spray bottle of water and misting a dry body panel with the water, followed by CG and gently massage/spread it around with a damp Microfiber cloth.

Lets see the pics!

Where do you guys buy CG from? I'm guessing the Online Store thru (my350z.com) right?

I just tried to order some but the checkout wanted me to pay $40US for shipping to Toronto?!
all I ordered was 1 large bottle CG Quick w/ microfibre, and 1 bottle CG wash.

how much did you guys get it for?

hehe i bought mine for $50 about 4 months ago. Then bought a set of 3 Microfiber cloths for $6 at local retailer. (TurtleWax brand cloths).
I can live without the CG Wash, its mainly for the Pro application anyway.

Re: Put CG on my car for the first time.

They've lowered the price to $39.99 for a large bottle.
Shipping within CA is about $6 but shipping to canada costs $40 apparently =( so I am having a mule bring it up for me =)
