Tree Sap on my hood!
Tree Sap on my hood!
Hey guys,
I parked near a park recently and some eucalyptus trees left a lot of tree sap on my hood. Im having a really tough time removing it, i've washed it w/ AIO, and then used the sonus clay bar, Still cant get it off..you think i should use bug spray removers? Anyone know for sure how safe they are for our clearcoats, etc?

-Spray a little WD-40 on, wait 60 seconds, and wipe away.
-If this fails, move up to kerosene or paint thinner.
-If this fails, it will need to be wetsanded off. Some sap turns into a rock, it sucks.

Another good product to use is Goof Off. Put some on a rag and hold it on the sap for a minute or so. Usually comes off without an issue.
If not sometimes claying will remove the sap. -edit- didn't realize at first you tried this. May give it a shot after the alcohol or goof off if they don't remove it completely.
