Black G35 - Waxing Routine

Well heres my baby waxed... not the best picture, Ill have to work on taking her for a photo shoot one of these days... anyway.. good wax routine for black cars...

I used Meguiars clary bar..using a car wash/ water mixture in a spray bottle to keep the surface slick

one coat of Meguiars #83 using the Porter Cable 7424 with a white pad

One coat of Zaino Z1

Two coats of Z5

One coat of NXT

I had swirl marks on the back bumper especially and few minor scratches on the bottom of the trunk below the infiniti lettering... it all seems to be gone now.. this routine rocks for a darker color car...

Oh yeah, .. I have some wax residue on the plastic window trim.. like the strip that runs along the bottom of the window, I tried using alcohol but there always seems to be a hint of wax left on... any idea how to get that plastic black again instead of white?

Invest in a bottle of Armorall Original protectant, use a small sponge or towel and wipe it across. Not only will it keep the black appearance, it'll also prevent the sun from destroying it any further.

Ryde looks nice but IMO, out of all the products used, NXT's probably the only one that's a waste of time. Don't get me wrong, it's better than nothing and I carry a bottle in my garage but it's not really doing much except removing waterspots.

Hmm. The mequiars #9 followed by the NXT has always been a winner for my black sedan. The only time I have used the #83 is when I had some pretty bad scratches on the door around the handle. If just minor swirl, the #9 works fine. I dont use the Zaino anymore. I dont see any difference in gloss or longevity to justify the price premium.

You can use Mothers Back to Black or Poorboy's Trim Restorer for your window trim.

Looks pretty good but why would you use NXT over Zaino? Now y ou can't use anymore Zaino without starting the whole process from scratch. Whenever you use sythenitcs, you should always stick to one line or brand. You will often run into bonding issues if you don't.
