I think what your friends meant is that the bird poop (it's very acidic, especially if it's a huge bird bomb) will continue eating away at your clearcoat and eventually damage your paint if you leave it on long enough and don't wash it away. Most people wash it off the day of, with a quick detailer or what not.

And no, you're not making a big deal of this. You bought the car brand new; you should expect it to be in "brand new" condition.
Thanks for the reply highside. They are going to take the car again on Monday, I tried to see if I can force them to somehow buy the car back but it seems "lemon law" is only for safety, strucural or engine troubles.

got back the car today. The lady that dropped the car off said they got off the stains and claimed that the roof was not repainted but could not provide the work order cause the manager was on vacation...

well the stains are gone but it appears they repainted it or recleared it. They were supposed to tell us if it was to be repainted cause we would have refused. The repaint seems a bit odd though i think it need to be buffed not to mention it appears to have more metallic in it then the stock but the color doesnt match real well in the shade. Though underneath it has a line that shows it has either thicker clear put on it or paint and clear as you can see in the picture. We are going to try and demand a new car and hope everything works out but I doubt they will let us get a new car. I just feel sick about this whole situation

they may have buffed it out. the line that you see under that piece of trim may be just dirt or wax built up. try lifting the trim as you did in that picture, and use a q-tip with wax to see if that line disappears. if so, they buffed it out. if you can feel and layer of paint with your fingernail, it has been painted.

tried it out, the line is less noticable but i can still hear a change in thickness when i scratch my finernail across it, not to mention the qtip turned a little blue Or could it be a realllllly thick layer of glaze or a colored glaze they used to buff?

thanks for the tip speedracerg35

Yea, lol, thanks for the info, GL to you in the employment field...

back to topic .... You should be able to demand a new car if it has been repainted... I had some haze in my paint as well when I got mine, took it to get it "buffed" out at the dealer, I got it back with a bunch of swirl marks... so I just did it myself .... If you really wanna check to see if it has been waxed or painted... you can try to get a microfiber towel, wet it with Dawn and water, and wash a small area where the surface is uneven... if it comes off ... its a thick coat of wax.. if not then guess its paint...

Man, reading this thread makes me angry. Sounds like the dealer sucks and is trying to play "dumb" about the whole story - and that they can't get you a workorder? That's crap!

You deserve a new car if you haven't had it for more than a couple of weeks.

If you can't get a satisfactory result, you can always get a little revenge and throw rocks through their showroom windows...

They called today. I wasn't home (was on a job site visit and got a job offer today ) my dad talk to the GM. The GM told him that the detailer made a mistake and painted the roof and he acknowledges that they shouldn't have painted the roof. He doesn't want to give us a new car cause he has to sell our car as "used" . He wants us to give him another chance and to paint the roof at a "professional certified" shop. My dad told him repeatly that we want a new car but he didn't budge. My dad told him he will call him back on monday...

we've only had the car a few weeks I think this week makes it 4 and they have had it in there possesion for 1. The car has ~400 miles, 200 of which have been put on by them.

Any suggestions on maybe what to say or do that will force the GM guy to change his mind and give us a new car?

I know you guys are tired of my updates but it helps me keep vented lol

We called the GM today and he said he will find out what happened, so he said he was going to set up a meeting with the people who were involved and would call us back.
When he called us back he claims that the lady who dropped the car off told us that the car would be repainted!!!! Bold face lie right there. And she even said that my dad wasn't home when she delivered the car!! Which he was home..Me and my dad both heard her say that the car was NOT repainted and the value of the car was NOT depreciated. So she pretty much called us liars!

Now he wants to look at the paint job. So we are going to take it to him tommorow afternoon....
we better get a new car out of all this
