Want to learn but where to start?

very little knowledge about detailing a car. Dont even now what a clay bar or the buffer or even the right towels or mitt to use.
I know enough to wash my car but recently i did alot of searching and it seems I DONT REALLY KNOW HOW TO WASH A CAR CORRECTLY! lol it seems so hard to know what is right and what is wrong.

So I been thinking of searching for a detailing video and cant make up my mind which ones are good.

I need to ask you pros out there, what is a good detailing video for a step by step from the right tools to washing a car to moving on to buffing and waxing and polishing and etc.

How did you guys pick up your traits of car caring. My first ever car i own and i want to pamper her the right way. I dont have a mentor to show me these tricks so im hoping to learn off of you guys.

read these:

http://www.autopia-carcare.com/inf-intro-detailing.html

http://www.superiorcarcare.net/auto-...ing-guide.html

http://gtaindetail.com/faq/

then come back to the forums with your questions..

p.s... follow these steps and you'll be fine:

1. Wash
2. Claybar
3. Polish
4. Wax

but read up on each step beforehand..

Also!

The only video I know of is the Griots Garage one, but I've heard its mediocre. I think most folks learn by reading, reading, reading. Autopia.org is an incredible resource. It's totally overwhelming at first, but just lurk around and read threads; if you have *specific* questions post a thread and I guarantee you'll get an answer. Detailing is way more a science than most people give it credit for. As always, feel free to PM me with specific questions (try to avoid "whats the bext wax" or "how do I make my car into a ferrari")

if you live near southern california you can signup for a meguiar's detail clinic.

They host it in Irvine, CA. If Mike Phillips is hosting it, he is extremely knowledgable and reputable.
