Help...new car..tint...S.Florida

I just picked up my 6MT today, and need to get tint living down here in Fort Lauderdale/Boca Raton. First anyone have any suggestions on tint in general? Places to recommend? Cost?

Thanks!

Ask your salesperson where they would recommend-- if they're honest with you and you have a good rapport, he'll tell you where to go. If not, he'll say "we can do that here".

For a good tint job, you shouldn't have to pay more than $200-250. Some people have paid up to $499, but I swear they got taken for a ride. I got an excellent ceramic tint and a perfect install, and I paid $175 out the door.

Totally agree!

I paid a little less than GeoBau for mine and have had complements on the workmanship. When it comes to tint, it boils down to the reliability of who's installing it. Don't let the higher prices lead you to believe they're better!!!!

I've had 30% all around on my black TL that I found was a tad too dark, so when I got my G, I had them install 38% on the doors and 30% on the rear windshield. I had the rear windshield a little darker because that large area exposes a lot to the sun....a little darker for slightly more protection. I posted a few pics a while back.

I paid $200 which I found was a little high. Get a metallic film (not reflective mirror, that's tacky) for better heat rejection, a must for Florida sun.

There's also a guy, Pepi I think, at http://autosupershield.com/, who does the clearbra as well. IMO the clearbra is a must in construction heavy So. FL, the gravel and sand on the roads and highways do a real number on today's brittle automotive paint. Another must-have IMO.
