Advice Please

I just purchased a 06 G35 OB Sedan and when I returned from the test drive I noticed some swirls on the car. I talked to the salesman and he said he would take care of the swirls and threw in some Paint Protectent and Leather Protectent for the vehicle.

I picked up the vehicle during the evening the next day and they had it inside the showroom floor ready to be picked up. The G looked awesome with all the swirls gone, but when I went to work the next day it could still notice some swirls on the vehicle. I have 432 miles on it and needed some advice on what type of products to use for swirls.

I was looking to use Zaino wash (Z7) and Z5+ZFX,then Z8. I was not sure if I should use clay since I don't notice or feel any residue on the paint.

Please help me out and I look forward to your recommendations.

Thank you,

Al

I'd do the usual Zaino procedure.
Wash with Dawn (remove all impurities, as well as existing wax)
Claybar
Wash w/ Z7
Z5+ZFX
Z8
repeat the Z5, Z8 until your arm falls off

Haven't tried Zaino.. hear really great reviews about em.. just a bit time consuming however. Your setup though with the products looks like the avg. of what people are doing with the Zaino so you should be ok. You said your paint feels ok, so personally, I would suggest to not clay it.. clay bars are mild abrasives and shouldn't really be used just to pre-wax. Unless you plan on doing the whole shibang like tod was talking about..

There are other steps too that you could go with.. if you need more professional help tune @:

www.autopia.org

if you don't learn what you need from here.. then may God help you lol...

Good luck.. and congrats!

ps. Swirls are inevitable, don't worry.

ill bet you they just had it detailed with a product with a lot of fillers.all those swirls will come back after you wash it a few times.i would make the dealer put something in writing that when the swirls come back, they will have a pro detailer remove the swirls not just cover them up.

i use Griots stuff... if you do Griots, i would give Polish3 a try (make 2 passes)
and see if that removes it. If not, try Polish2, then finish off with 3. if that
doesn't work, Polish1, then 2, then finish with 3.

wax afterwards.
