Front Bumper Cleaning Issues

I've had my coupe for 3 yrs now. I'd assume like most the novelty has wore off and then it got exciting again, then wore off, now i am back into the detailing craze (too bad its winter). Anyway at this point my front bumber looks like dead bug, tar, rock chip central. Obviously the rock chips cant do anything about short of repaint but to try and get it nice, clean, and shiny again what have people done? I just bought Stoner brand bug/tar remover to try and see if that works but washing, scrubbing, and i've tried this other brand stuff no luck. Anyone else with similar problem and remedy?

If you are seeing a lot of surface contamination that is relatively fine then yes claying is a relatively good option. As for brand names, clay is rather generic and relabeled by a lot of different companies. I tend to look more at the size of the bar, 200g is average and I break that up into about 4 -5 pieces. I use Clay Magic Fine Grade but I think almost any brand is good. If the problem you are seeing are large pieces of contamination that won't come off with a regular wash then something like the Stoner's product you bought is usually effective. If that is not working I'm not sure I know of stronger products, while there are many comperable. Applying multiple coats of a sealant to the front bumper will help prevent these build-ups.

i use clay from www.detailersparadise.com and SpeedShine from Griots.

A nice coat of wax every 3-4 weeks is a great way to keep the front
end slick... you can also use SprayOn type waxes after a wash with
similar results to keep the paint slick.

Griots also sells a product called BugOff which is a sealant for your
front end.

I clayed my cover over the Turkey day weekend.... It was great. I will never wax the car without claying first ever again.
