Re: silly question
I don't think the window will 'seat' itself and go right to the top until the door is closed. So opening the door and lifting the window up won't fully close it.
The only way I can think of is to close and seat both windows, and b4 either door is opened, have someone disconnect the battery so that neither window goes down that quarter inch.
I'm sure the doors open ok that way so that the tinting can be done, then b4 the doors are closed at all, the battery will have to be reconnected to bring the windows down away from the seated position. **This is just a guess**
Perhaps someone has watched the tinting shop do this????

Don't disconnect the battery with the windows up!
All it takes is one person to forget and close the door and you're out a lot of money. Taping the button will extend the window. My installer just pressed the button when he was working on the lower edge.

Re: silly question about Coupe tinting
i have no idea what the guy did to mine.. i wondered teh same as you how he would do it. but i know he never popped the hood to disconnect battery.. he never popped the door trim off.. but when it was done and the doors were shut it was perfect.. so dunno? most of the time they offer a lifetime guarantee.. at least mine did so i figured whatever.. if it ends up being 2" short on the bottom i just have them redo it...

Listen to Omi...
If you simply remove the silver screw in the door jam, the one next to the button that triggers the window and interior lights, then the window will stay up. Again, be very carefull to not try and close the door with the windows up, can be very costly.
Good Luck...
