Porter Cable 7424 HD Plus just arrived!

It's always nice to see the UPS man! I just unpacked the Porter Cable 7424 HD Plus and took a couple of pics. I decided to go with the HD Plus from Autogeek.net because it has a 16 gauge 25 ft cord. Their website said that this is not a drop cord – it’s wired into the polisher to deliver maximum power and performance. Hopefully I'll get to put it to the test this weekend.

congrats! i can't stand the velcro backed pads myself. i use the edge2k pads for their ease of changing. you don't have to try to center them either.

Can I ask what the difference is in this new HD vs a regular 7424, 7336 when using an extension cord?

Apparantly the larger gauge maintains the optimum current. I really bought it for the longer cord though. Here is what Autogeeks website says:

"The standard Porter Cable 7424 comes with a 10 ft, 18 gauge power cord. The cord is specific to the power requirements of the polisher. Therefore, the 25 ft cord on the Porter Cable 7424 HD Plus is 16 gauge to maintain the optimum current for optimum performance. "
