Question ATTN: Detailing Experts: Look At My Swirls!! Please Help!

I bought a porter cable a while back and haven't used it yet. As some of you may remember, I also made a thread asking which polishes I should get. Now I think I know what I want, but I have a couple questions about it based on the swirls on my car. Heres the link: http://www.properautocare.com/menpolandpad.html

Ok, first off, do you think these pads are good and are they velcro?

Secondly, This kit comes with Menzerna Intensive Polish & Menzerna Final Polish II, but NOT with Menzerna PG (Power Gloss). Based on the pictures provided, do you think IP and FPII will cut it, or do you think I am going to need the PG?

This picture shows marring from when a body shop buffed that area with a rotary buffer.

IP and FPII will be needed and possibly some PG for some stubborn spots. Its good to have an array of products and pads because each application will require a slightly different set of combinations

That kit'll do it. IP will take care of those swirls.

Will this kit work with my stock PC backing plate or do I need to buy the 6" hook and loop backing plate? Also does hook and loop mean they are not velcro?

Thought those close ups were my TB.....lol I have the same exact thing on mine. I also picked up a Meguiars version of the PC ( lifetime warrantee no questions asked ) awhile ago and also didn't use it for over a year and at that only twice. Their products did the trick to what you have there. Fortunately I have one of the best detailing places on the east coast close to me and after the winter my G will go in to get rid of all that stuff.

lol...

Theres a dumb reason why I haven't used mine yet. I wanted to post these pictures to make sure the kit I wanted had everything I needed. So I would wash my car and then I would forget to take pictures. Then a few days would go by and my car would get dirty so I couldn't take pictures...so blah blah blah, now I finally got the pictures and the minute someone answers my questions about the backing plate I will buy everything.

I just bought the kit and backing plate from properautocare.com for $90. I got a coupon code and saved $14 on shipping!!! (FREESHIP).

Hook & Loop = velcro. It's a fancy way of saying it. A 5" BP will work, but a 6" will be a little better with those pads.

if i was to do your car, i would tape one of the panels and do a side by side
comparo using my griots polish3. if that doesnt work do #2, #1.

those swirls are pretty nasty but pretty easy to get out using a random orbital.
