How often should I apply leather cleaner?

Hi all,

I have had my coupe now for 8,000 miles and just this weekend I gave my leather seats their first cleaning. I bought McGuires (or something like that) leather cleaner and moisturizer.... The stuff seemed to work pretty well, but I am thinking that I should do this more than once every 8,000 miles.

I really do not want to get any cracks or creases (almost inevitable) in the leather seats.... I never leave my car in the sun (park in the shade) and it is garaged most of the time, which is better for the leather - UV exposure....

Please advise what cleaners you are using and how often you do the clean.... Thanks

Re: How often should I apply leather cleaner?

I use LEXOL cleaner and conditioner on my graphite leather interior. I applied both the cleaner and conditioner once so far and loved the way it turned out. Since then I applied the conditioner about 3 months after the first application. In my opinion the seats stay lush both in appearance and feel if you apply the conditioner LIGHTLY about once every 3 months. I do not apply it to the dash board. For the dash I use 303 AEROSPACE Prtectant which is a UV protectant for various materials but works EXCELLENT on the graphite interiror dash! I applied that once a month. about every 3rd cleaning or so.
