Neons - Lighter power source?

Neons - Lighter power source?

can you use the lighter as a power source? i know the car manual says not too. have any of you guys tried?

yeah, i am...

think of it this way...
A lot of neons come with a lighter socket adapter, which i cut off to direct wire.. so they are made to run off it anyway, i am just tapping in to another place!, it will also let them turn on and off with the car!

Option 2:
setup a relay switch on the ignition wire so that when the ignition is on it will give power to the neons, or switches that control the neons, but when the key is taken out the power is cut off to those accessories too...
