Re: Zaino ( which to buy?)
I just bought the kit. It seems pricey but there's enough product to last you a very long time.
If you want to do it right you'll need the clay bar, ZFX, Z-2, Z-5, & Z-6. After all of that you might as well get the car wash and applicators too so now you've bought the kit.
The first couple of coats you put on will be heavy (approx 1 oz) but after you get more experienced you can do a coat with about .5 oz. At that rate a bottle of Z-2 or Z-5 will last you 2 years is you put a coat on every month.

Re: Zaino ( which to buy?)
Do what you want but you'd be real surprised at how much crap the clay bar will pick up off of your brand new car that spent a month getting here from the other side of the world. If you're still skeptical do the plastic bag trick.

Re: Zaino ( which to buy?)
Zaino is not any ordinary wipe on wipe off wax. You have to use it either the Z1 or the ZFX in order for it to bond correctly with the paint. It stays on longer than most waxes because it bonds with the Z1 or ZFX to the paint, giving it that deeper shine as well. If you just want an easy 1 product wax, just go to your nearest Pep Boys or Autozone and take your pick.

Re: Zaino ( which to buy?)
1) Zaino is not wax. It is a polymer. What's the difference?Wax will physically bond to the car. Polymer will chemically bond.
2) Zaino is a multi-step process that will last longer and will give a deeper shine.
3) I'm not sure about Red, but Z2 is the polish for clear coat finishes (all the lighter colored cars). Z3 is for non-clear coat finishes (black, midnight blue).
4) My car got: DAWN (to remove any wax and impurities), Claybar, Z7 (car wash), Z1 (prep), Z2 (polish). Then a follow up with Z6 (gloss enhancer) in between washes.
5) got the Z1, 2, 6, 7 for $40. $10 more for the ZFX.
6) Takes just as long (time wise) to wax a car (Wax on/Wax off) vs. Zaino (back/forth strokes)

no clear coats on the darker colors? Did not know that.. why if you don't mind my asking? (forgive my ignorance... I guess I don't know EXACTLY what a clearcoat does)
Thanks
Twlight blue/Willow 6mt on order. Options: Sunroof.

Re: Zaino ( which to buy?)
I would think all of the G35s have clear coats. If there is not a clear coat, the paint would look flat, like you just sprayed some spray paint on there. So you need the Z2

Re: Zaino ( which to buy?)
From what I hear, the Gs are all clear coated, so Z2. Z1 is the pre-cleaner/primer. You still need this (or ZFX, but not both), then the Z2. This is all after the Dawn, Z7 (wash). Optional, but optimal.

Re: Zaino ( which to buy?)
The Z2 and Z3 are the same thing. Z2 is for clearcoat, Z3 is for non clearcoat. You should check and make sure you didn't waste money on the Z3.

Re: Zaino ( which to buy?)
gee whiz all of your questions would have been answered if you took the time to read the information on Zaino's site. I used z-1 then z2. I did buy the Z6 to use in between coats of Z-2. Follow the directions to the T otherwise you won't get the benefits of zaino.
