Thousands of Tiny white specs contaminates
Yesterday, I noticed thousands of tiny white specs all over my car. They covered my entire car. I tried using a number of cleaning products on the windows first, but none removed the specs. For example, to remove a single tiny spec on my back window, I would have to scratch it off with my fingernail. It took 15 seconds just to remove one spec! As for the car, I washed it with Dawn and used Mother's Clay bar but it only removed approximately 5% of the specs.
What can I do to get rid of those lousy white specs?
Thanks,

Did someone spray paint your car?
Damn that sux, ask a good detailer about what they could do... they usually have little tricks!

Re: Thousands of Tiny white specs contaminates
I had the same thing happen to my I35. they sprayed a building by my job with a thick paint/cement type coating...they called me to move my car, but they had already sprayed the corner of the building and the wind was blowing in my direction...i didn't notice anything until i washed my car later that week...all the windows and the whole top and left side of my car had this stuff all over it... I finally had to wipe my car down with turpentine, then let it sit for a moment then wipe it off and then clean the whole car with a mild cleaner/wax to remove any residue that remained...really pissed me off they couldn't have waited ten more minutes and save me all the extra work...hope this helps
P.S. my paint was already about a year and a half old ....maybe not a good idea if your car is relatively new!!!!!

How do you find a good detailer? Any trick to that? Most of the places I've seen I wouldn't leave my car! And, cosmorover, since you have them on the glass too, see if some laquer thinner will remove any of it, I don't know if that would work on the paint, but I think it would be safe on the glass!
And GR8TG35 , the biggest majority of painters don't seem to give a damn if there is someone parked near by! I don't know why people have to be so ignorant!

Re: Thousands of Tiny white specs contaminates
Yes, try claying it first. If that doesn't work, then bring it to a professional detailing shop. There are ways to remove paint overspray, but it gets somewhat technical and would be difficult to do w/o the proper chemicals and equipment. You could, however, try claying it first and if that doesn't work, try tar remover.

Re: Thousands of Tiny white specs contaminates
guys, read the entire post before replying, he said that he used Mother's Claybar, and failed.
My recommendation is to see if paint thinner will remove the specs, it will most likely do so, dont worry though it wont strip the body paint, thats already cured and protected.
wash the car immediately afterwards, and then wax/polish/seal
i always use paint thinner as my last resort. again, dont worry, it wont hurt your paint job. just dont pour the stuff onto your car and let it sit overnight LOL...just wipe with a soaked towel with little or no pressure.... then wash and wax
good luck.
