That Mr.Clean Thing...

I know you've all seen the commercials-- hook it up to a hose, wash and rinse, and it'll rinse clean. No drying. I know it won't offer protection, etc. etc. but has anyone tried it or heard first-hand stories? Just curious... can't really try it on my G since I don't have a hose at the moment (anyone who comments on that gets a kick in the "hose").

Geo: I just confirmed, it's true... no washing your own car in Las Vegas after the 1st. Not that I give a ratz azz. Let them try to arrest me! I think NOT!

See my previous commend on hippies.

With all that non-potable water in the Bellagio fountain or multiple swimming pools, I could wash my cars a thousand times over Oh well... I'll just have to take it to some nasty, stupid car wash where no one knows what they're doing and will scratch up my black paint.

Damned hippies.

Don't let the dumb asses scratch it. Call a local limousine or transportation company and see who they use to clean and detail their cars. They might help you out or get you to the place they use.

I actually did that when I first got here, lol. I went to... um, well I forget the name... regardless, the woman cleaning my car used one towel to dry it off, going from bottom to top and just generally making it look like crud. I wasn't too happy. What does everyone else in Vegas use?

You called a limo service and they directed you to that?

Yup. I use Ambassador Limo out there, so I called them since their cars always look nice enough. Funny enough, when they drove me to the airport two weeks ago, the towncar they picked me up in has swirls in the black paint... I thought, "damn... why didn't I notice those before?"

Re: That Mr.Clean Thing...

Actually I bleave that the water problem is really part of the Bellagio lake and fountains...no kidding. Here is why:

I had friends and relitives that live there and they told me that when that hotel wanted to build a lake in front they were turned down by the water departement there because its just not practical considering the rate of evaperation compaired to the population.

They struck a deal with the water district and the exisiting homeowners that if they cut back on thier consumption, they would get money back or extreemely low water bills. The difference in water saved would go to the Bellagio who paid the difference in the residence water bills indirectly.

So I guess you cant bitch if you live there cus thats the deal. Just like you dont have any state tax. Compaired to Calif, you saved you saved about $3,500 on your G.

Re: That Mr.Clean Thing...

If your talking about Nevada we do have sales tax ...7.25% I believe here in Las Vegas...but we have no state income tax. I didn't save anything when I bought my G....Pingo

Re: That Mr.Clean Thing...

Do you have a "sales tax" on a car purchase in Nevada? In NM we have an "excise tax" I think it's a bit different than a gross reciepts tax. I don't have to pay the excise tax, it's a benefit of being a disabled veteran. (not all disabled vets get this, certain conditions apply).

Re: That Mr.Clean Thing...

Yes we pay sales tax when we buy the vehicle...and then get hammered at DMV depending on the value of the car....but veterans can get $100 off .No income tax but they make up for it...Pingo

Re: That Mr.Clean Thing...

Oh, that's all we pay is the excise tax to the DMV, but I am exempt, the dealers aren't too familiar with this though, have to explain it to them, I also get my plate free, it actually never expires! They treat the disabled vets pretty good in this state, effective this year, since I am 100%, I am exempt from property tax on my primary residence, LOL, maybe I should buy a bigger house!
