Had my G FINALLY detailed!!

I finally got around to getting the G detailed..
all I'm doing is cross posting what my friend wrote up on Autopia.
He basically just started doing type of stuff and IMO, he's getting the hang of it REAL fast!

He did most of the paint "repair" while I mostly sealed/waxed, cleaned interior, sills, wheels, and engine bay.

He did an amazing job getting my black paint.. BLACK again!!

10 hours yesterday.. maaan was i sore.. World's longest shower.. Wanted to sleep, but my brother blew 2 tires in his RX8 around 1am.. and I had to find him His first response when he saw the car at night was, "Damn your car is shiney"

So here's the cross post.. I'll get the other pics from Vic and i'll edit them and make them look fancy later.. just wanted to share the detailing!

Little plug: Vic's in Worcester, MA.. and he does great work!! His AIM is speed4lyf19 if you want to make an appt with him!

Here is the process. This was for the car itself, the body kit was just repainted so we went over it with poli-seal by hand twice then #26

Wash: GC and 2 bucket method. Dried with absorber
Clay: Meguiars clay on Horizontal surfaces only, spot clayed some areas as well.
Polish:Optimum polish w/green pad @ 1400rpm x3-5, some areas white pad @1400rpm
Compound: On trunk only, OC w/yellow @1400-1900rpm x3-5, finished with OP/white @1400
Pre-LSP:Poli-seal on white @1400rpm, mostly to get rid of slight swirls/holograms from white/green pads.
LSP:Megs #26

Wheels: Hand washed with GC, he keeps the wheels spotless, inside the wheel as well.
Wheel Waxecided to try poli-seal on wheels and it worked amazing.
Tires:Black Magic Tire Gel (his stuff)

Interior:All treated with Optimum Protectant Plus.
Windows:Invisible Glass
Overall id say around 80-90 swirls/defects were removed.
The pictures
1 Here is what we started with.

2 Rear

3 Front fender in the sun, whole car was like this. Trunk/hood were the worst

4 Under halogens (front fender)

5 After 3-5 passes with green/op and white/PS

6 Oh **** i found something i dont like. Overspray, bad repaint, clearcoat failure

7 Look at that concentration and sweat lol

8 Yea its not stock lol

11 Right side of trunk

12 Left side of trunk

13 Overhead display and custom boost gauge, my baby safe in the garage lol

14 Interior shot all cleaned up

15 Left side and rear completely finished

16 Huh yea it was dark when we finished

More pics will come to follow once i get back from my trip next week, thanks to Matt for helping out. We started at around 12ish or so and finished at around 8ish. I should be getting some day/sun shots hopefully but its going to be raining all weekend.

Story behind the trunk: Its a used 03 trunk because Matt didnt want the stock spoiler so they traded, it was heavily heavily swirled and filled with holograms.

^^ That optimum stuff is amazing.. I drove with my windows down last night, and there is NO DUST collected on my dash!

i used it on my leather too!

It kinda smells like fish.. but goes away after it dries.

It is not greasy, and leaves a flat matte finish!

another optimum fan! No dusting FTW! Did he leave the poliseal sealant on, or remove using IPA/water and only use it for correction?

Car looks stunning! I really enjoy the OPT polishes with a rotary buffer as well. Hopefully we will have it in our product lineup before the end of the year. Great work.
