Spilled Touch-up Paint

I am officially going to buy a 83 Iroc-z because I can't have anything nice without f'ing it up.

So I spilled some (ok like the whole bottle) touchup paint on the front of my car. I could only get some of it off and the rest is caked on there.

Any ideas?

Maybe some rubbing compound. I spilled a small amount on my bumper, and was quickly able to get it out with turtle wax rubbing compound.

just be careful; remember that the paint around what you're trying to work off is alot thinner. Maybe try a claybar first.

try some paint thinner if the paint hasn't fully cured, it should remove it without harming the paint underneath

I wouldn't think paint thinner would be a good idea... does the clearcoat protect against it?

use paint thinner before it becomes fully cured like the members above said..

if you're good You can take it off with thiner and some FINE FINE FINE grit wet sand paper (wet with water please) and buff it afterwards but for now just use some thinner on a towel and do not apply pressure and wash the area when your done

thiner will take off factory paint if you rub against it or leave it on.

How fine would you suggest? I've done wet sanding just not on a car and I don't know how much I trust myself. I have 2000 grit lying around from lapping my processor/heatsink.

ACT FAST, get your *** up and put paint thinner on it. If it doesnt work, try rubbing compound. If not, you may have to wet sand that biach. Post on autopia.org/forum if these dont work

2000 grit should be fine enough. If you wetsand, then you may need rubbing compound afterward to get the shine back....Be careful though--too much sanding and rubbing compound, and you'll be staring at primer....Not that I speak from experience....

Just wanted to thank everyone for the responses. I took it by an autoshop today and made an appointment for tomorrow.

However when I got home I was determined to get it myself and I did. I used Goo Gone Orange Blast (?). It removed it without a hitch, took alittle elbow grease though. Definitely do not use regular Goo Gone. My dad was trying to help, he used it on my grille and lifted the finish.

Oh well, mom said she would buy me a replacement. Now I don't know if I should order Klumzyee's or Ionic's
