water spot etching

well its the same usual post except the only answers i have seen is use a pc and abrasive polish. Well i dont have either nor can i get either. So i have to do with what is at pepboys.

So here is my problem i have like water spots etching. I can see the outline of a water spot and i have tried the 3 step meguairs and they still didnt come out. They arent really noticeable in shade they are pretty light. Most of them you can only see if your looking for them. But everytime i wash the car i see them there and my roof also has a bunch. I have also tried the zaino claybar and that didnt do much help either.

So any ideas how to get these water spot etchings out? my car is OB by the way

try scratch-x by hand, or diluted vineger and see if that removes the etching

Well the only way I know will be using a pc with a mild polish. Clay bar is only meant to take off containments above the cars surface, like tree sap/ road tar/ etc. Try looking on craigslist or in your regional fourm in your area for auto detailers to have them detail your vehicle. It will be less expensive then taking it to a deatiling shop.

Is there a different procedure for removing water etchings from the sunroof or other glass surfaces, as opposed to the procedure for removing them from paint?

vinegar will only dissolve mineral deposits on the surface, if they have already eaten into the clearcoat, then this won't work and you'll have to polish the surface smooth again

Maybe there is a local member or someone else that would let you borrow a PC? If you were in my area I'd let u borrow mine, but I'm about 18 hours away. If you got a good polish and really worked it in my hand maybe u could get it out, but it would take quite a bit of heat and elbow grease, or wait and save up for a PC.

man this sucks there is no good detailers out here in vegas. I havent found one detailer from this site out here either if i did i would have had them make my car look like new again a long time ago. Anyone no any good detailers in vegas let me know. I wash my car once a week and wax it every couple. The one time i didnt wash my car for a while is when i got the spots. My car sat out at night and there was a broken sprinkler soaked my car well i didnt get to my car till about 4 in the afternoon so it sat outside in the 110 degree heat on my black car all day. I washed my car that day about all the spots came out except for a few etchings on the roof and a few around the car.
