Smile How do you guys keep that "new car" look?

I was lucky enough to find a 2007 Journey with Premium Pkg and wheels...with just 5000 miles on it. So, I basically got it for $4000 less than invoice. It's Obsidian Black, black interior, all the bells and whistles I need. Truely Ann's dream car.

The thing I need to know is how to keep a car looking brand new short of paying for a major detailing once a month.

I really want to keep my cars in the best shape possible. I am always amazed that cars come home looking great. But, I can't seem to maintain that really "slick" look.

Please pass on some tricks of the trade... i.e. washing, waxing, inside detail, etc. I was told not to use Armorall on the dashboard...I would like to keep the matt look.

Thank you so much!

Here's a post that'll really help...

https://g35driver.com/forums/care-detailing/141057-detailing-caring-your-ride.html

Tells you all you need to know about washing, claying, polishing, waxing/sealing.

I personally highly recommend the Zaino line http://zainostore.com/

I've never used Zaino, but I'm pretty happy with the line of Menzerna products and Natty's Red for wax.

Zaino is great and all, but it really comes down to how dedicated you are and if you have a garage. When I first got my G35 coupe (October 2006), I washed and polished with Zaino the first weekend (took the whole day on Sunday!) After that, washed every two weeks for about 3-4 months. But since I don't own my house, I couldn't find a convenient place to wash. That along with a lack of dedication, plus I started seeing my current GF who lives an hour's drive away, led to less and less attention for my car. Now, the G still looks ok, but no more new-car look So it's all up to you if you want to keep it looking new.
