Mobile detailing, Prapare for Import war
Mobile detailing, Prapare for Import war
To prepare for my first car show, I had a guy came in & did a mobile detailing,
The car has never being detailed & has seen plenty of dirt roads.
The guys couldn't believe how much tar came off with his clay bar.
What do you think about the results?

What size tires you running? Looks like they're 235/40's. I'm running 245/45/18's and the gap is significantly smaller. I choose not to drop since I use the car in the winter on the stock 17's.
But the detail job looks fantastic. As asked above, what did the guy charge you?

Aren't you the same guy that raced an M3 with his little daughter in the car?

I've always believed showing your car was an extension of the work you've done to make it special. The car looks great, but it strikes me as odd that you'd let someone else prep your car for the show.
I'd have rather done it myself - any victory would be the fruit of my labor - not someone I paid...
Just a thought.

Car looks clean. It's amazing what a simple tool like a clay bar could magically do to one's car. I remember when I first used the clay bar on the G last year when I purchased it, the bar removed a lot of rail dust and stuck dirt particles, and now my G feels like a baby's skin every time I touch it
Back to your G, you forgot to tell us how you placed at the car show?

Clay bar+ Polish + Sealant+Wax.
Poor guy spent 4 hrs, that'll really cheap, compares to those so called detail shops charge $150 for an overcharged hand wash.

I did win 2nd place @ the High End class, against some Lexus & Acura

but that's against my "No weight gain tolerated unless there's a performance justification" Policy.
My first show, just for fun, not willing to have it derailing my goal, heading toward 12"
