Less than anyone else was quoting. I would discuss with wil... he's a very fair guy.

Re: Tint in San Francisco Area

When you guys got your G35 tinted, did the tinter tint the whole window on the driver and passenger side in the front seats? I just got my car tinted this weekend from a friend's friend, and he left about a half an inch or so on the top of the roll-up windows for both sides. I didn't ask him why he did it because the overall job was excellent, but I'm curious why he did that. Actually it sort of bugs me a little. I know I should have went to Wil, but I figured I should help my friend's friend.

Half an inch is excessive. My goal is always to get the film up to the top edge of the glass to obtain as close as possible to a factory look. The reason some installers keep it away from the edge is to avoid having it snag when the windows get rolled up. But it is possible to get the film close enough to obtain a clean look and also avoid having the film pick up from the window rolling up and down.

a half inch is way too much. I've had 1/8th on a previous car, but the other 3 I've tinted have been right to the edge - maybe 1/32 reveal... make him do it again.

It should bug you. I have never had a gap at the top of the window on any car I ever had tinted. They all go to the very edge.
