grinding noise on PC 7424

grinding noise on PC 7424
Hi,

i just purchased my PC 7424, and i have a quick question.

After attaching the pad and turning the pc on at low speed, i hear a metalic grinding noise. I can only assume it is coming from the counter weight. Is this normal?

Please advise.

The CW is firmly attached with two phillips screws. Have you tried it under a load?

No i have not tried it under load. it is just spinning freely right now. i turned it on to make sure it is not defective.

Do u think it will help if i try it?

Yeah my PC did the same thing when I first got it. I thought something was wrong with it. But there isn't. That how they sound when there on.
