Thumbs down my gf's Tree & my G35

so i got an ish load of... of sap on my car. from a pinetree ;T it just nutted all over my car. what's the best way to remove sap from the paint hood and fender? i can use my finger, but it takes forever and starts to hurt.

i tried washing my car, and that thing doesn't come off. ;(

You can get Bug, asphalt and tree sap remover from most automotive stores. It works petty good and just follow the instructions on the container I keep a can handy at home just in case.. Nail polish remover or mineral spirits will also work.

+1 on bug/tar/sap remover - works very well. it does also remove wax, so if you may need to rewax the car afterwards. but don't delay removing tree sap - it may leave permanent damage that'll only come out by repolishing.

I've heard of that, but then you can't keep the squirrels and bluejays off your car

I've used a couple different brands and they all seem to work the same. Just give the car a wash and rewax afterwards.

For sap I treat it with Isopropyl Alcohol diluted 50/50 with distilled water. If that doesn't do the trick, I add in some degreaser. Try to pick at the sap at the top of the peak so you do not touch the clear coat. Use a clay bar as recommended to remove any remains. It is possible you'll have to polish that area as well if it etched into the clear coat.

I've had pretty good results using WD-40, and then re-wax the area.

WD40 would be my choice after trying the 50/50 alcohol mix with water.

then wash the car very well with 2x the usual car shampoo and rinse
well. Paintprep as needed (if you use WD40) and wax afterwards.

you need to find a different gf or have her cut down that tree. lol

Well If you keep you car well waxed first try warm watter and car soap/with some elbow greese. If that does not work, I would use bug/tar/sap remover then re-wax or seal.
