Dusty rear- Coupe

I've noticed the first thing to get dirty on this car is the rear and the bumper. Do you guys ever clean it between washes? and if so, what do you recommend?

The detailer at Infinity said I should never just "dust" the car becasue it creates micro-scratches on the exterior, yet I see these duster cloths at the store. Are they actually safe?

The dusters are safe for dust. You shouldn't use them on dirt that's been left on your car after a light rain. If you're not using them daily on a car that hasn't been rained on then you will scratch your car. The rear end definitely gets dirty before anything else.

Re: Dusty rear

Kozak Towels for light dusting between washes. These towels are great and much better than a Cali carduster. I have a TB coupe and was getting micro scratches with the duster while the Kozak towel works wonders and I can check the cloth for any contaminants much better than the Cali duster.

Re: Dusty rear

I think the California Duster works just fine. I just put it into the dryer after every dusting, so that gets rid of any debris or contaminants stuck to it.

Where do you buy these Kozak Towels? The only thing I dont like about towels is that you have to put more pressure on the surface than with a sweeper, so the dust might end up scratching you car more.

I use the Speed Shine. It is just the thing for when you have that odd bit of dirt or whatnot on your car. I don't drive mine in bad wx unless I'm forced to so I don't actually wash my car but about every 3 months or sometimes longer. I just Speed Shine it. I also keep it garaged and covered as well. Re: Dusty rear

Keep it waxed plus a brief whisk with the California Duster works great for me...

I have a TB coupe...have you noticed it seems like the paint on the rear is getting like permanent dust in the paint or it might be the orange peel effect...rest of the paint looks great...when I look from the side it looks that way...Pingo

That's strange. Haven't had that look with black. I've never seen the orange peel look on plastic though. You might want to have that looked at.

I have a kozak from back in the day, and its complete garbage, swirls like no other. The cali duster is 10x superior to that thing.

as long as the surface is well waxed, dust-only, and dry you can just
use calduster (helps to QD it afterwards as some oils might not come
off).

This is my first white car ever...and the rear dust drives me nuts! I cali dust mine daily or every other day, and then wipe down with Z6. Its never going away.

I have a TB coupe...have you noticed it seems like the paint on the rear is getting like permanent dust in the paint or it might be the orange peel effect...rest of the paint looks great...when I look from the side it looks that way...Pingo
I had this happen once. It literally just looked like brake dust or exhaust that had stuck to the rear bumper and wouldn't dust off. I tried Z6, no luck. Washed, no luck. I finally had to claybar and it came right off.
