You don't think water can scratch paint? How about I lend you my pressure washer and you turn it up all the way and then blast your car with it. It'll strip your car down to bare metal in a blink and I don't even have a very strong pressure washer.

Anyway, I try to avoid touchless washes mostly for the reasons TOGWT gives. I use a rinseless wash in my garage during winter months instead.

I used the Touchless car washes pretty often for my cars when we were under tough water restrictions until it scraped the hell out of my front wheel on my TL. Never have gone back to an automatic car wash. I rather pay some guy $10 to wash it if it's really really bad.

So do anyone here use them? Any bad things about them?
Don't use it!!! I have used it for about the past 2 months (me being lazy) and have noticed ALOT more scratches on my paint. There are areas where I bet the high pressure water probably blew off the debris with a bit of my paint. Even though they are hella quick than manually washing, I think it is better I wash my car every 2 weeks (in -20C weather), than every week at a touchless carwash. If possible use the brush, not sure if scratches but it is less stress on the paint.

I will never do a quick "in between full wash/wax/etc" wash at the quarter car wash again.

He definitely means rinseless wash. However, there is such a thing as a "waterless" wash product. It's like a QD on steroids. Poorboy's Spray & Wipe is one example of such a product.
