I used touchless car washes on my cars for a while, no problems. Recently I switched to getting full hand washes/details since I got a hook up on em now.

Fantastic product btw, I wouldn't be without it.

From the people that clean the car. I wouldn't trust them. They use the same rags (not microfiber) to clean the car.

Not to mention the same mitts and brushes they drop on the ground constantly, and the filthy soap solution they use. "hand washes" are no better really. Sorry, but if they can wash your car in 10 mins, then they didn't do it correctly.

Ok I can see this would be an easy answer for someone who lives in a warm weather climate, but what about the people who actually have winters where if you wash your car the water freezes the driveway up to an ice arena then what? It gets to the point where, whats worse driving a car with sand and salt on it or going to the car wash. If I could I would wash it myself in the winter because god knows i do it enough in the spring/summer/fall but I cant so I dont see any other way around it? If theres suggestions Im all ears.

In the winter time I wash my car at those places that take quarters and use a wand. I wash it by hand, I just use their water. I take a bucket with Zaino and wash it. Then I drive home and park it in the garage.

I guess this would be hard if you do not have a garage. I guess if you do not want to wash it much over the winter, you should put several coats of wax on it now to help protect it.

I think this post just killed all the quick car wash's business from G35. But personally I dont think there is a big deal if you bring your car few times a year to get it clean when you feel lazy. But if you the person who use it weekly/monthly then I guess whatever the posts above mine will be effecting your judgement.

As mentioned above, an rinseless wash solutions such as Optimum No Rinse or Protectall's Quick and Easy Wash are the perfect solutions for the winter. You use warm water in the buckets so your hands don't freeze off, and since very little water reaches the ground, it doesn't freeze. If you wash and dry each section as you move along, then it won't freeze.

I don't leave my car filthy Tom, and it gets pretty cold and blustery here.
I have never used an automatic or touchless car wash in my life
Oh, and I have no garage .

I wash my car during the winter with a rinseless wash and warm water in my garage. I also just bought these at REI to make things even more comfortable:
