Liquid CLay Bar

In my search for a clay bar at the store i have not found the bar o rputty. But have come across Liquid Clay Bar by Turtle wax. Does anyone have any experience with this, or in saying if this is as good as using the 'bar'.

I feel the liquid seems like a short cut

Sounds like a marketing "scam" i would stick with an actual bar. Its the level of grit in the actual bar that takes off surface contaminants.

I used Mother's clay bar & detailing spray on my last car, and man, results were well worth it. I've yet to claybar the G, I'm just waiting for the weather to get better. And back on topic, I'd be skeptical of the liquid claybar. Sort of an oxymoron, isn't it? I doubt it'll work well.

I used it, definitely took everything off the paint, but I'd be a little concerned about rubbing in the contaminants instead of removing them. Will probably switch to actual clay bar.

Yeah, it's probably just like liquid polishing compound. Liquid clay bar is their marketing hype.

I have used liquid paint cleaners oon teh car many a times in the past but never heard of a liquid clay bar. I would imaagine its almost the same as a liquid paint cleaner but just make sure the cars fully cleaned and tht you rotate a few microfiber towels.

Surely there's an advance auto parts or autozone in delaware? Both carrier meg's clay kit. If you want to wait, you can order it from one of the sponsors here

Bingo, might as well say it is an abrasive polish.

A traditional clay bar is much more effective at removing surface contamination. Liquid clay bars rely on the abrasive particles in the liquid to round off the edges of contamination, not remove them from the surface.

Good explanation George. Thanks.

I can't really understand how you could that liquid stuff "clay" and/or "bar" anyhow. It defies logic.

-not worth the money
-it does not clean as well as a real clay bar (if it cleans at all)

don't get it. i have a thread on this section called "worried please help." it talks about my experience. it doesn't damage the car; it just sucks.
