what the hell is on my car??
what the hell is on my car??
i have these marks...they only show up when the sun is shining..especially after i cleaned it.....its these sort of 3d lines that follow you where you go..so if you move left..they will move too.....i asked a friend of mine and he says a good buffer would get rid of em...but does anyone know what they are?...i dont think they are swirls (considering there not circle whatsoever)..
The first two replies were right on the money. I'd bet that your dealership used a rotary buffer to prep your vehicle and the operator was unskilled.
To remove the hologramming you see, you'll need to polish your vehicle. To ensure that you do the best job possible, I'd recommend using a quality buffer, such as the Porter Cable 7424 or Flex XC3401VRG buffer. With the PC you'll need to pick up the backing plate and appropriate pads to match the products you plan on using. The Flex has a built in backing plate so you'd only need pads in addition to it.
For polish recommendations, I'd highly recommend using Menzerna PO106FF. This is one of the finest finishing polishes available and has enough bite to correct most hologramming. It will create a deeper, wetter gloss for your paint while correcting imperfections. Another alternative would be Menzerna Final Polish II. You'll sacrifice a little bit of the final finish, but this polish is also very effective at removing hologramming and light imperfections.
Here's a guide to properly polishing your vehicle.
Afterwards, be sure to follow up with your choice of sealant and/or wax, as polishing strips off any previous layers of protection.
Let me know if you have any questions on anything.
