Leather was looking faded, used cleaner = looks new

I have a Black G with the very light willow/titanium interior. After driving the car for about 6 months, the leather was beginning to look very dirty and kinda faded. So i went out and bought some Turtle Wax Emerald Series leather cleaner that a friend recomended to me. After about an hour of cleaning every crevis of the interior, all i have to say is WOW. What a difference! The leather looks like it did the first day i sat in it. One thing that really bothers me however, is how dirty the floormats are and STAY. During daylight hours the willow colored mats look faded and old. So then the wheels started turning...how do you guys think a black coupe wiht willow interior would look wiht the black floormats from a G wiht black interior? Then i started thinking that if i changed the mats, maybe i could change the shifter and boot and e brake to be black as well. And just for the hell of it, that little piece in that backseat. (the piece that if one were to remove it, it would reveal the storage area in the backseat). How do you guys think this would look? I think it could look tacky or it could look very cool, i cant decide. Let me know what you guys think.

Please note: If you dont think it will look good, thats all you need to say, please dont call me a ricer or other names of similar meaning. I havent made up my mind either tho, maybe i am just getting bored with the interior and want a change....i wish they made the interior of these cars wiht an option similar to that of the S4's where one could buy the grey suede or blue inserts with the black leather. That combo looked awesome and they were rare as well.

Thanks guys

I think it'd be distinct-- not too many have that. I'm not 100% sure about how the mats would look, but I think it'd be interesting with the "two tone" idea for the boot, backseat, etc.

Oh- PS.. you might want to get Resolve deep cleaning stuff... I took the mats out of my car, sprayed them down with Resolve-- drenched them. Then I just lifted out the dirt with paper towels by dabbing non-stop. Looked and smelled brand new.

Cruz, do you have those mats? How do they look after a while of usage? My experience with black mats hasn't been too good, are they the Infiniti mats, or a knock-off?

I don't think it would look that bad, I know in my Graphite interior, there is some contrast of color/shade, and I prefer that, my Mustang was all "monotone" inside, made it a little boring!

i've got a black sedan with willow interior. i also bought black floormats that i put in for winter. i got the mats in black because i wanted a contrast from all of the boring browns (and i didn't like the color of the willow mats). plus it'd be easier for me to tell when the mats needed a vacuum/wash. to clean the actual carpeted floormats, i use this oxy upolstry cleaner and it makes them look brand new.

my prelude had custom 2-tone leather seats - grey and black. loved it and made my car stand out from the other preludes. and yeah, that S4 interior and leather is pretty sexy. good luck with your decision.

A little tip for all you willow mat guys..(oops, and girls...sorry)
In the bad weather and winter months I just flip my mat over and use the rubber part....it holds a lot of water and its so easy to clean afterwards....just hit it with some detail spray and a bristle brush.

It definitely helps to keep it in good condition...however, like anything else, your situation/enviroment may be different than mine...but it works great for me.... 2old4this

Yes I've got the black OEM rubber mats that are on this site & I love them! If they get dirty you just take them out & shake them off. Or you can just spray them down w/ water either way it's easier than cleaning the cloth mats.

i think you should keep the thing in back its original color, but the shifter, boot, and e-brake cover in black sounds like it would look pretty cool. maybe you can ask one of our photoshop gurus to play around with the G's interior and have them blacken out those interior parts for you.
