Guys,

Anyone else noticing a lot of paint chips on the hood? I've put clear bra on almost all of the front end (hood, lights, mirrors, bumper facia, etc.) , but still am getting a lot of chips above the top of the clear bra on the hood. I've only had the car for one winter, and the paint is really getting torn up! In contrast, my wife's Durango has been trough three Colorado winters and has no chips at all! I'm tempted to have the entire hood clear bra'ed on the G!

Thoughts?

Yep, the paint to me is crappy. I also have a clear bra and have chips above it on the hood. I have also noticed chips in the paint in the doors and along the sides.

Re: Chips in paint
This paint is no worse for chipping than any vehicle I have used in recent years, they make paint more "environmentally" friendly now, but to be honest, I have been buying new cars since 1968, and the paint quality has improved greatly, and ALL paint gets stone and sand chips, no way one brand is any better than another in that respect! In the early days of Japanese cars here, their paint really sucked!

well, the G is a lot lower then the Durango so it would be more succeptable to chips.

Re: Chips in paint
My paint came crappy from the factory, it had trash in the paint and had several spots that looked bad. It also has orange peel. None of the cars that I owned prior to this had these problems.
