Re: Zaino and DUST!

hate to ruin the party but the california duster CAN cause minor hairline scratches. the fibers of the duster will not cause scratches but if any of the dust on your car is actually grime(very small rocks) it will cause a minor scratch. Trust me, it takes very little to cause hairline scratches on a clearcoat finish. I've spoken to many professional detailers and most don't recommend the duster. the only exception is AFTER a wash/dry when only the dust from the drying towels remain on the car.

I wouldn't worry about it if your car is a light color. but if it's black/midnight blue I would use the duster only when there is very little dust.

I think it's actually called a tilde. It's just pronounced "till-duh".

SoG35. That is merely the opinion of a particular detailer. The key to the California Duster is to not let the dust build up excessively. Use it frequently on a relatively clean car and you run almost no risk of scratching your vehicle's clear coat.

well, it's implied that your G will be clean when you use the cali duster. i know i do mine that way and i imagine geobau and gdupg35 do the same. i mean, why dust a car that is filthy? you're just asking for scratches.

tory... walmart or target should have it for cheap. it's about $10-$12. they also have a smaller version for the interior.

Re: Cali Duster

I use Zaino and use the Cali Duster on my black car every day before driving to work. It takes only a few seconds. On black, you can really see the impact... my car already looks very clean before dusting, but as I go over it lightly with the duster, I can see a big difference! By using it duster every day, the dust doesn't build up, and the car stays clean.

When using the duster:
-- don't use any pressure... just VERY lightly go over the car.
-- it's just for dust, not dirt. If the car is dirty, wash it.
-- use frequently, so dust doesn't build up.

Used wisely, the Cali Duster is a great tool and won't cause scratches.
