Any of you wash the engines?

I popped the hood open to check the fluids and the engine is very dusty. I realized my neighbor cleans engines on cars. I was wondering if there are any other benefits to getting an engine clean besides them being clean.

If you have oil leaks, it is potentially a fire hazard. Otherwise-just a cosmetic thing. You may get little more respect from mechanics working on your clean engine though.

Its always a good idea to keep the engine clean, if you get a leak you will know right away.

Rather than wash....!

It's a better idea to wipe down your engine than wash it, you don't need
water getting into those sensors! I agree, there's nothing better than a
clean engine....they run better!

I can understand if one of your hoses have a crack and there's dirt next to it. The fluid can come containment
