Bye bye scratches
I detailed my neighbors car on Saturday but there wasn't time to polish the whole car but there was some major scratches on the hood the owner wanted to see if I could fix up a little. Well the scratches were pretty bad and I honestly didn't think I'd be able to touch one of them but holy cow was I wrong.
Here's the hood. One pretty deep scratch in the middle that was a good 8-9 inches long with tons of smaller ones all over the place. Again, I really didn't think I'd make much of a dent but I broke out a new LC low pro orange pad and some SIP.

Much to my shock, the scratches were basically gone. If you put your ear to the car and looked sideways you could see where the big one was but you wouldn't have seen it if it wasn't pointed out to you. The owner could not believe the big scratch was gone...nor could I. Here's the outcome of the hood.

Here's a shot without the flash.

Seeing the owners face was priceless.

Nice work never gone! Super Intensive Polish is such a versatile polish. Seeing and hearing the customers reaction was my favorite part of every detail.
Keep up the great work.

That's what I thought too because you could for sure feel the scratch with your nail and I really did NOT think it would have been able to be corrected to the level it was. I was hoping to lesson the severity of it but when I wiped the polish away I seriously was shocked. I then took another pass over it and the outcome made me go

Great share though, I love seeing these success stories. What color car was it?

The car is dark blue. They key is to just take your time. If you think you're going slow enough...slow down haha.

Nope, I've never tried wetsanding before nor do I think I ever will, kinda freaks me out. Like I said earlier, if you put your ear to the car and look, you can see where the scratch was but unless it's pointed out, you can't see it. I don't even know if a PC can remove wetsanding marks. Someone else asked if I wetsanded too because there is a reflection on the ceiling from a chromed lowrider bike hanging directly below a light and it looks like it's on the hood of the car...it's not. I didn't even notice until it was pointed out. I just took my time and did 2 separate passes.
