I am not familiar with Zaino products, but this is not good advice to me. I completely forgot about the plastic pieces, dawn might be good for washing a big rig that gets washed once annually, but not for my car.

I remember when I used to browse thru autopia.org years ago, dawn was recommended by detailers before a detail.... it's been known for awhile.

So let me get this correct,

Polish strips the wax? Then you wax as normal, correct?

The purpose of polishing is to get rid of marring and swirls in the paint. As a by-product of that, all wax will logically be rubbed off/removed. In order to protect the paint after polishing, you need a last step product (referred to as LSP) to seal in the paint perfection and protect your paint. The polishing is what makes the paint look good and the LSP locks it in.
