Tips on getting side door trim off

My car came with the door trim moldings that are supposed to protect from door dings...I think they look tacky and awful. I always park in the middle of nowhere too so i dont worry about door dings. But anyone have any tips on getting them off?

Side Molding Removal....!

The molding is "Stuck On" just like the letters on the trunklid. Remove it the
same way but use fishing line rather than dental floss due to it's strength. Do
a search under Debadging, all the answers are there!

Discoloration after removal....!

If you have shadows or discoloration when the molding is removed there's several ways to get this removed without reinstalling the molding. If the
usual products like ScratchX won't clear it up, cleaner and a buffer will surely
do the job (not rubbing compound)

maybe the paint under the trim just hasn't faded the same as the rest of the car paint. After 4 years, any paint that hasn't seen sunlight is going to look different.

You said it. After some time the area that was covered will fade too and may become indistinguishable from the other areas. Some colors will show this worse than others...my DG was pretty bad when I debadged my trunk lid but after 4 years that is what I expected. I have polished the trunklid out 3 times with Poorboy's SSR 2.5 & an orange pad on my PC and used AIO on it twice but I can still tell the difference. Black wouldn't be too bad, but any silver or red will show a difference in paint color for quite a while if the car is a few years old.
