Clear bra - Bekaert film

Anyone know of Bekaert film for a clear bra rather than 3M? I have a local installer who will do a G35 complete for $500 (3M film installer wants $1000). See www.solargard.com where I found out about it.

Bekaert makes the Clearshield brand, which is what we carry along w/ 3M & Llumar. The price for $500 is around the range we are currently charging the G35s. Time of install should be between 4-5 hrs. Good luck!

How does the Bekaert compare to 3M? Any real difference in quality or performance? Which would you put on your own car? An installer wanted $1000 for the 3M film (X-Pel) as opposed to another installer at $500 for Clearshield.

Re: Clear bra - Bekaert film

Personally, between the 3M and BSF film, I don't see any real world difference. Both has a slight orange peel look to it and they're both just as thick. Honestly, $1000 is what these kits use to cost........say 5 yrs ago. But w/ today's mkt saturation, they really should be @ $600-$700 range.

As for the Llumar film, it doesn't have the orange peel look to it, but it is more flimsy than 3M, Ventura, or BSF. Llumar's film is easier to work w/ as far as installation goes, but can get scratched up pretty easily.

I would go w/ either BSF or 3M......good luck!

Re: Clear bra - Bekaert film

I am getting very different opinions about car film. One guy says to avoid Clearshield as it is a urethane/PVC "Vinyl" type of film - whatever that means. Locally a 3M installer wants $1000, a Clearshield installer wants $500. Is there any real difference between 3M and Clearshield (Bekeart)?

3M is replacing the film which is available now, they will be releasing a newer film soon. When? no one knows yet, but they already have samples. I have a Venture film and accdg. to the installer (EnvisageLab), it's one of the best product out there. Tough but easy to work with, won't see stretch marks and doesn't scratch easily and w/ longer warranty.
