California Duster

Hey guys just wanted to let you all know, that when you wanna keep your car clean and shiny between that period of not getting ur car washed, use the california duster, its jsut a special duster with some wax IN the duster so say in the morning before you start driving you use it on ur car and it really looks like its new. it works great and its cheap. you can buy it at pep boys autozone or places like that. DONT use it when your car is hot though.. enjoy

Re: California Duster

So basically if there is too much dust on my car i should just wash it? I just washed it but it got dirty since i had to park in a dusty area when i went to Knotts the other day. So should i wash or just use the Califronia Duster? I am afraid that i mgiht scratch the paint if i use it now. Any advise?

Re: California Duster

That's the thing I've always been afraid of with the 'Duster'- scratches! Dragging any kind of grit off your car can't be good for the paint can it? Those of you with black cars, notice any fine scratches using the California Duster?

Re: California Duster

i use it on my car everday and i have a black car, the first few times i was a little afriad of fine scratches, but i havent noticed any really. it workds great, just DONT use it when your car is hot or when its been sititng out in the sun, its not a good idea cause the wax on the duster will come off easier adn it wont look too good but without that its great and worth the 10 bucks

Re: California Duster

The trick to using the California Duster at first is do it on another car..
The more the duster gets used..the better it becomes...
I use it on mine..and now it doesn't leave streaks anymore...

Re: California Duster

what is this california duster? i've never heard of it.. maybe it's a californian thing.. i'm in texas, but if it's about dust, it's pretty darn dusty here..... think "tumbleweeds"..

Re: California Duster

I've had mine for years. It's a plastic handled duster with red mop-like head. BTW I've seen them at Target.

Re: California Duster

something to note . . .

there are two versions of the large california duster , , ,

one with a white plastic habdle - the volume unit sold everywhere -

the other with a wooden handle - it is the deluxe model - much better. it has more material and thicker material. it is also less likely to leave those wax trails those of us with darker colours see .my old white handled one was leaving wax for over a year on my black car . . .
when i discovered the wood handled deluxe model, i enjoyed the difference so much, i started stocking them . . .

it you can find it - get it and use it . . they dont scratch as long as you only use them on a dusty car, not a dirty car . . and lightly drag the ends of the duster across the paint, dont rub it . .
