badly chipped bumper how to bring back gloss?

hi, i have a badly chipped front bumper and the clear coat looks like its fading away it looks ugly it has no gloss, waxing dosen't help its still dull, I applied Mother's Back to Black trim care and it really does the job nice & glossy but the thing is it dosen't say you can use it on painted surfaces but it dosen't say not to use it on painted surfaces either, i sure hope my paint dosen''t come off once this stuff really soaks in i've looked all over the net i can't find an answer, is there a specific product for bringing back gloss for painted surfaces, that have very little or no clearcoat left thanks

Wash, clay bar, wax, buff with a buffer (i.e. porter cable). Sounds like the paint hasn't been kept up.

Has it ever been professionally detailed? I suggest going that route for the condition it sounds like its in.

Good luck

i had it clay bared a couple of times because i thought the surface was contaminated with dirt but that's not the case, i waxed it with turtle wax and i'll never do that again since it even looks worse when all that white stuff gets into those tiny chip holes, spray waxing dosen't help either, the only thing that helped was that mother's back to black gel, i just found another type from chemical guys also a TRIM GEL but its water & detergent resistant i hope i can use it on painted surfaces

If you've taken clay to it a few times, then applied a inferior wax to it, I can see why it doesn't have a gloss to it.

Like G35Papa said...get a buffer on that thing. Whether its you or you pay someone to do it, that will bring back some of the llife.

get the bumper polished by someone that know what they are doing. It's not going to suddenly transform the bumper to look new but it will FOR SURE help.

the whole car needs to be repainted there's scratches everywhere but i don't feel like it, what if i was gonna buy a can of clear coat and just clear coat the bumper would that give it a more glossy and a wet look?
