Hey guys quick question, do ya'll use the wheel cleaner spray?? I dont know if that will hurt the finish on the wheels.

Its just sooo much easier to get the wheel dust off with those sprays...

Some wheel cleaners are acidic and depending on the finish of your wheels, it can oxidize and fade them. Other products are pH neutral and are safe for all types of finishes. One of the more popular pH balanced wheel cleaners is P21S Wheel Gel.

The best thing I can recommend is to protect your wheels with something like Poorboy's Wheel Sealant. This will make cleaning your wheels significantly easier. Keep in mind this doesn't prevent the brake dust from accumulating as much as it helps it wipe clean with ease. It's best to apply this when your wheels are off the car, so that you can get the inside of the wheels as well. With Wheel Sealant applied to my wheels, I just use a dedicated wash mitt and soap and water.

If you do end up picking something up locally, just make sure it's not acidic, especially if you have after market wheels.

Hope this helps,

George

i usually use soap and water. although you can use meguiars all wheel cleaner. just follow up the cleaning with sometype of wax/sealant and you should be good to go. itll make future cleaning a bit easier. just remember to keep reapplying the sealant/wax every so often.

P21s...love it.

Was recommended to me by many detailers and friends, it will cut through damn near anything if you leave it on long enough and clean with just a wipe off...
Then seal your wheels as recommended above and it will make it 100x easier to clean in the future.

I personally love Eagle One A2Z All Wheel & Tire Cleaner. It works amazingly well at getting all the old crap off your tires and it will NOT hurt your rims. It can be used on anodized, clear coated, factory painted and chrome. I use it all the time on my Racing Hart RS 721's and have NEVER had an issue.
