Hand polishing is going to be tough without a porter cable. The purpose of polishing is to take out swirls/scratches. If you don't have these in the first place, then you can skip it. I usually use Menzerna Intensive Polish if it's real bad and then their Final Polish II.

The Menzerna intensive polish really dusts a lot. A lot of folks use the "Optimum" line or Poorboy's Professional Polish, although I have not personally used these.
yeah, the good thing is i dont have any major swirls/scratches, so i dont think even using a machine would be worth it, besides i dont have one lol. Can the Menzerna or any of the products you listed be applied by hand? Thanks for the input!!

Applying the Menzerna products that firefox mentioned will enhance gloss, but it will not remove at swirls or scratches. If you are looking for any type of paint correction, they polishes must be applied by machine.

i dunno, i just took swirls and scratches out by hand with a rubbing compound. polished and waxed it. looks good, but i want better. What can i apply by hand then? I dont have, or want to use a machine on my paint, seriously its not that bad. I just want to polishand protect.

^if you want better you need a machine, although you're also saying seriously it's not bad. Taking swirls and scratches out by hand is hard work and not very consistent on the paint.

You can apply a sealant or wax by hand.

Post pics under a halogen light or under direct sun if you don't have a light. That will tell the truth about your paint.

I have no idea what rubbing compound you used but Menzerna's polishes were made to be used by a machine in order for them to be broken down properly.

^rubbing by hand and polishing seem to be used synonymously.

I've used hand rubbing compounds for many years on several of my last cars before I learned the right way- buying a PC. They will remove some swirls and scratches albeit with a lot of effort and not the same quality result as machine.

I've got a twilight blue and use Zaino, I think it's great. it last a long time, I 've gone upto 6 months before reapplying Z2. The reflectiveness is a little different, some don't like it cause it looks a little plasticy. here's a couple of shots, one in direct sunlight and the other in the shade.

How is the Wolfgang 3.0 paint sealant? The product descrition on autogeek makes it sound great. I'd rather get some real world opinions.

nope, only handjobs for me

I'm a lazy bastard and wash my car maybe once a month. In the past 4 years I've clayed twice. I usually apply a layer of Z5 then Z2 maybe twice a year and the paint has held up well. The first time I applied it, a couple of weeks after I took delivery of the car I did the whole nine yards, I must have put down about 4 layers of Z2 in one weekend and then followed that up every weekend with 2 more layers, I think I got on about 10 layers to really seal the paint in the begining. It was bus-*** but well worth it. it's really easy to apply and take off.

You guys need to get togeather....!

DC your Twilight Blue Coupe looks so nice why don't you and Fast04 compare
the process you use. Kinda like a Driver Brother thing because Fast needs
some help to keep his ride looking as great as yours.... Both
your TB coupes would look better if you used the Zymol concourse as a top
coat. Plus it will last for 6 months if you keep your cars in the garage at night! I use the Zymol every three months just because I'm a clean perfectionist freak....LOL
