QUOTE=TexSurfer;22589094]Hey all,
I get a lot of questions about different products so I thought I would start doing some tests for you to see. Thought a tire shine test would be a good start.
Keep in mind, I don't generally buy products with a lot of shine. Most of my clients prefer a nice clean new look. The most important thing is that a product lasts until the next time I see them. So I have compiled a few products that I use in my business. Some store bought and others are higher end. So we will get to see if your extra money spent was worth it or not. Some of these have actually never touched a tire. Some I buy for the purpose of wheel wells only. But today they are getting a shot at the real thing.

Great looking test, it's obvious Turtle wax sucks Poor Boys and Megs looks good, where is Zaino Tire Dressing, I really like it also.
I prefer tire dressings without the high shine, just the new look as a lot of your clients do.
What is your choice for youe clients?

Great idea...thanks for sharing!
Megs looks way to greasy and shiny for me, but the rest all look too dull?
Like GEE35X said...I'd like to see how they rank against Zaino. I tried that on a whim one day, and haven't gone back. I was going to try PoorBoys, but on this comparison it looks a little spotty.

I currently use the Meguires wipe on stuff, and that stuff is shiny, but extremly greasy. My car gets it tossed up the sides on all the time. I am trying to find something that isn't so greasy and gives it a nice finish. So this helps.
Looks like i'm in the "minority" because i much prefer that " wet and shiney " look
and yeah Meg's Insane looks like its tops in the category. I know the sling suucks but ive got a black car anyways soo one can hardly notice the spots

Tex, from nasioc.com did the comparison based on all of the products in his comparison. His go to products are the Nascar, which is quite cost effective, and the Opitmum, which is probably the priceist. Both give a "clean and new" look versus the wet look that a lot of enthusiasts prefer. Two applications were made, twelve hours apart. He stated that the Meguiars offered the best shine or wetness, but the drawback to it was that it never fully dried and remained somewhat wet and greasy. Those of us with Volks, Works, etc... might be leary of that.
Most of his clients are driving BMW, Audi, and the like and might prefer a more "mature" natural look of the Poorboys and Optimum. I personally prefer a slightly wetter look and go with Chemical Guys V.R.P. for a wet look and their silk and shine for my interior for a more matte look.
Overall the comparison gives you some good perspective on what the store offers and what the more premium products offer as well. If you desire the wettest look and longest shine, the Meguairs NXT might be for you, but sling is more of an issue for others who might want a water based dressing like Poorboys.

I have Meg's Hot Shine, it's pretty wet-looking and doesn't sling but doesn't last all that long, either. And like Elaine says, it smells purty.
Question: besides tire shine, what's good for fenderwells? I used 303 on my lowers and it looked pretty good, would it work as well for fenderwells?
