Mineral deposits on paint

OUCH! sprinklers went off when parked yesterday and the hard water dried on my beautiful black paint. washing last night didn't get rid of it and i don't want to do any rubbing. anybody know of a product to dissolve the minerals off but not damage the paint?

Depending on the hardness of the water, you should be able to remove it with out a problem......

I have used some distilled water, (available at your local drug/pharmacy) in a spray bottle.....spray some on the surface and lightly buff off.....

If that doesn't work....any good cleaner/polish will work fine.....just don't rub hard and they should come off......

good advice from gr8. if plain distilled water doesn't work, you might add a few ounces of vinegar.

If that doesn't work, you might have to try a light polish.

i used mother's clay bar to get some bad water spots on my hood out.

Hope you can get them off, the sooner the better, here in NM, our water really leaves spots, you even have to be careful you make sure you dry the car off immediately (if not sooner,LOL).
I would bet on the clay bar working!
