I got a pretty conclusive wax test from Guru Reports a few months ago. It was a 52 page magazine on nothing but car wax testing. Can't go into all the details here about how they tested the waxes, but it was fairly extensive. The publishers swear they have no affiliation with any wax or car care manufacturers (kinda like Consumer Reports). I read the whole thing cover-to-cover when I first got it as I'm a certified car care junky.

They tested 46 waxes in four categories: Durability, Ease of Use (application and buffing), Availability, and Performance. If you want the magazine, go to www.gurureports.org and order a copy. Interesting. I think it was a mistake to use "availability" as a factor! Meaning products like Meguiar's and Mothers would get points where harder-to-find products like Griots and Klasse wouldn't.

I find it hard to believe a carnauba like P21S could finish below a synthetic like Klasse. But interesting nonetheless. Won't change my mind! I love Klasse/One Grand Bliz.

 

almost tempted to order a copy but 15 is still a bit much for me. All I want to see is how each wax was ranked in the 4 categories. Well just 3 really: performance, durability,ease of application.

 

Best polish/wax combo is Klasse-Souveran. Report doesn't take "hybrid" factor into account. I always laugh at these reports when they weight cost so heavily. I'm looking for the best damn wax period.

I'm going to guess CG wasn't used, as it's a polymer they probably hadn't even heard of. Sounds like a small operation, and a lot of their stuff comes from "a friend recommended"...
