Wax Test by Guru Reports
Guys,
I got a pretty conclusive wax test from Guru Reports a few months ago. It was a 52 page magazine on nothing but car wax testing. Can't go into all the details here about how they tested the waxes, but it was fairly extensive. The publishers swear they have no affiliation with any wax or car care manufacturers (kinda like Consumer Reports). I read the whole thing cover-to-cover when I first got it as I'm a certified car care junky.
They tested 46 waxes in four categories: Durability, Ease of Use (application and buffing), Availability, and Performance. If you want the magazine, go to www.gurureports.org and order a copy. I think its about $15, and well worth it. Here's a quick snapshot of the results for the top 20 waxes, ranked best to worst and with an overall score...
#1 Zaino Bro's A-
#2 P21S Councours Look Carnuba B+
#3 Klasse All-in-One Sealant Glaze B
#4 Armor All Protective Barrier B-
#5 Pinnacle Souveran Carnuba B-
#6 Pinnacle Paste Glaze Carnuba B-
#7 Rain Dance Premium B-
#8 Mother's California Gold Cleaner B-
#9 Collinite Marque D'Elegance B-
#10 Mother's Cali Gold Carnuba B-
#11 Blackfire C+
#12 Collinite Super Doublecoat C+
#13 Blitz Wax One Grand C+
#14 Turtle Wax Finish 2001 C+
#15 Eagle One Wet Ploish/Wax C+
#16 Groit's Garage Carnuba Paste C+
#17 Nu Finish C+
#18 Mequir's Gold Class C+
#19 Turtle Wax Emerald C+
#20 Prestone Bullet Wax C+
Again, if you want to see the results of all 46 contenders, go to www.gurureports.org and order a copy of the magazine. Its a great read for clean car nuts like me, and worth 15 bills. And no, I have NO affiliation with Guru Reports.
Enjoy!

Re: Wax Test by Guru Reports
Interesting. I think it was a mistake to use "availability" as a factor! Meaning products like Meguiar's and Mothers would get points where harder-to-find products like Griots and Klasse wouldn't.
I find it hard to believe a carnauba like P21S could finish below a synthetic like Klasse. But interesting nonetheless. Won't change my mind! I love Klasse/One Grand Bliz.
